Athens Airport

Athens Airport Train

Every 30 minutes, the subway goes to the center of central Athens (Syntagma Plein). You can change trains if you want to go to Omonia Full or Makriani. You must continue further to reach Monastiraki station. There you can take line 1 to Piraeus.

There is also an intercity train that connects to the station of Larissa. From there, trains to all destinations of the Greek mainland.

When the new airport, new roads were built. Now it’s easy to avoid emcombrements in Athens. To go south, you follow the signs Elefsina. To go north, follow the signs Thessaloniki. The Attiki Odos highway connects the airport with the neighborhoods west of Athens.

Buses are available outside the arrival hall (outputs 4 and 5). The E94 line goes directly to the station Ethniki, the line goes to Syntagma Plein E95 and E96 line to the Port of Piraeus. A new bus E93 connects the airport to the central bus station on the street Kiffis. A bus was also provided for the port of Rafina.

Athens Airport Taxi

Taxis are stationed at exit 1. A race to the center of the Greek capital is between € 15 to 25 and lasts about half an hour to an hour depending on traffic. Ask the driver to operate the meter and make sure it applies the correct rate (a “2″ on the left of the meter means you pay twice the price but this is applicable only at night).

The short-term parking (P1 and P2) lie opposite the arrival hall. There is a long-term parking (P3) which is connected to the main terminal by a shuttle. All parking is free for 20 minutes.

Valet parking is also available in the departure hall (Central Parking System of Athens, Tel: +30 (0) 210 353 4260). Rates: 5-7 days € 75.00, € 5.00 per day thereafter.

Athens Airport Hotels

There is a hotel on the airport site: the Sofitel Athens Airport (tel: +30 (0) 210 354 4000). You can walk from the terminal, but a shuttle is also available. For more information on hotels and online reservations, you can go to Booking.com. It offers numerous hotels with a wide range of prices.
Shops and restaurants

The new airport offers a wide selection of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Most are located in the main terminal. There is a concentration of restaurants and (snack) bars on the Square Olympus. As its name suggests, the Skyview Bar offers a panoramic view of the aircraft.
Baggage

In the arrival hall of the main terminal is a lost property office which is also reachable by phone at: +30 (0) 210 353 0000. You can also put your luggage on consignment, but this office is only open Monday to Saturday (tel: +30 (0) 210 353 0352). You will find porters throughout the airport. You can also request one by phone: +30 (0) 210 353 0100.

In the business center (tel: +30 (0) 210 3530533), you can rent offices with telephone, fax and computer access to the internet. Small meeting rooms (up to six people) can also be rented. Most large rooms are also available but must be booked at the offices of airport services and administration department (tel: (+30 (0) 210 3536318). Sofitel s Airport offers greater opportunities for meetings and conferences.

There are special lounges for business class passengers with Alitalia, Aegean Airlines, British Airways, Goldair, Lufthansa and Olympic Airlines.
Disabled persons

The Athens airport is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. There are telephones, toilets and lifts fitted. Electric cars are available to transport people with disabilities between the two terminals. Approximately 90 parking spaces reserved for them just near the entrance.

Wireless internet is available in various points across an airport. There are also public computers with internet (12 points of free Internet access). In addition, the Athens Airport offers services to use as banks, bureaux de change, ATMs, a first aid station, a pharmacy and post office.
